The Dream Center outreaches change lives in neighborhoods where families have very little. Your help can provide esentials like food and clothing as well as niceties many of us take for granted like Christmas presents and something special for the children at Easter.
What types of help will your donation provide? All the statistics in the world don't matter; what God really cares about is that we have His heart for people's needs. Here are a few ways we do that, with a few stats thrown in for those of you who like those:
-
Through the Dream Center Austin's connection with Global Compassion Network, Somebody Cares, and Operation Blessing, an 18 wheeler filled with household goods, clothing, food, and baby items was distributed to evacuees from Hurricane Katrina who came to Austin.
-
At Christmas, 2005, the Dream Center Austin Christmas party provided 2000 wrapped Christmas presents to needy children from across Austin at a party where the entire family was served barbeque. Santa and his elves visited with the children, and each famiily was given a book (in English or Spanish) that told the true meaning of Christmas.
-
When we moved from South Austin in October, 2006, the Dream Center food pantry was:
- providing food for about 3500 people each month, and
-
The Dream Center Austin provided Thanksgiving and Christmas outreaches in 2006, at the facilities of Brethren Church, with the help of volunteers from 25 area churches:

for Thanksgiving, we served over 1000 individuals, providing turkey and all the trimmings to take home for a family celebration together,
-
at Christmas, we provided 500 wrapped presents for 250 children, and provided free decorations and other household items people could choose to take to their homes. We also served hot dogs and drinks and gave out groceries to the families who attended.
-
We reopened our food pantry in March near the intersection of 183 and Peyton Gin Road. We are now serving about 1000 individuals monthly.

The picture above shows children at our 2007 Easter outreach accepting Christ as Savior after a skit and puppet presentation in English and Spanish portraying the resurrection of Jesus. For more details, CLICK to see our May 2007 newsletter.

The Dream Center Austin is an interdenominational Christian outreach. Our volunteers for the ministry we do represent dozens of area churches.
Your gifts make it possible for us to reach more children and families in need, and do more for them.
